Privacy policy
Privacy policy
Spider Solitaire should be the only thing you have to think hard about here. This policy sets out what information is involved when you play, and it is not much.
This policy applies to spidersolitaire.us, which is owned and operated by Solitairen OOD, a Bulgarian company ("we", "us"). If you have any question about it, email info@spidersolitaire.us.
The short version
- You do not need an account. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or payment details.
- There are no sign-up forms, comments, contact forms or purchases on the site.
- Your wins, settings and saved games are stored in your own browser, on your own device.
- We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
- No analytics or advertising services are active on the site today.
What is stored on your device
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
pgm_wins | Cookie (first-party) | Counts your wins for each game so the score display can show them. | 1 year |
| Saved game and settings | Browser local storage | Keeps a game in progress and your game settings, so you can pick up where you left off. | Until you clear your browser data |
| High-score name | Browser local storage | Only if you type a name for the local high-score display. It stays on your device. | Until you clear your browser data |
| Content cache | Browser session storage | A short-lived copy of the site's page settings, so pages load faster. | Until you close the tab |
None of these builds a profile of you. You can delete them at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and site data; the games will simply start fresh. A cookie notice is shown on the site.
Information our service providers receive
Like every website, ours cannot be delivered without some technical data changing hands. When you load a page:
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. It processes your IP address and basic browser details to serve the pages and to protect the site from abuse.
- Microsoft Azure hosts our content service in the United States (West US 2 region). The page asks it for text, links and blog posts, and, like any web server, it receives your IP address and browser details with each request.
- Fonts: the site's typefaces are served from this site itself, so no font provider receives your IP address.
These providers process that data to run their services, under their own privacy terms. We use it only to operate and secure the site, and we do not combine it with other information to identify you.
Why we process this data
Only to make the site work: to deliver the pages, keep your games and scores, keep the site secure, and answer you if you email us. If you email info@spidersolitaire.us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and keep them only as long as needed for that.
International transfers
We are based in Bulgaria, and our providers operate servers in several countries, including the United States. Your technical data may therefore be processed outside your own state or country. We use established providers that apply appropriate safeguards to that data.
US state privacy rights
Residents of some US states, including California, have rights over their personal information, such as the right to know what is collected, the right to ask for it to be deleted, and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing.
- We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws.
- The only personal information involved is the technical data described above and anything you choose to send us by email.
- To make a request, email info@spidersolitaire.us. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Children
The games are suitable for all ages, but the site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Because we hold almost no personal information, there is very little that could be exposed.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles information — for example, if we ever add an analytics or advertising service — we will update this page before that change takes effect and change the date below.
